Almost 24 hours later at 2am, about 14 degrees outside, my dogs asked to go out with a different low growl bark than normal, and she was right at the back slider pacing and meowing to come in. She did not seem too cold either, just excited to be back, so we are so thankful!

Cupcake got out last year. She was found by an angel who kept her and would not return her to the people who kept her, claiming she was there. She had her scanned at a vet. The vet and Petkey contacted me that morning. This angel would not let me retrieve her until I provided the correct information identifying Cupcake as mine, which I am completely okay with. I called the vet and provided Cupcake's school ID and Petkey info, they called that Angel back to tell her I was the correct owner not that other lady contacting her. We met at her house, and we got Cupcake. Unfortunately, she can't go with me to work anymore, so she's being rehomed to a lovely family who also has a frenchie named Blue.

We could not find her anywhere, but at 4am when it was completely quiet outside she came back and hid under the deck. I coaxed her out and we were reunited! Definitely recommend searching during the early am hours when there is no noise.

Mila was found roaming and picked up by a woman who tried to contact us originally. It sounded like a scam so I was very hesitant to converse with them. So they ended up taking her up to her Veterinary Clinic and they scanned her chip. They made a phone call to us and she made it back home!

I woke up around 2:00 AM today, 5 days after he went missing, but had trouble falling back asleep. A few hours later I heard a very faint meow outside the house, but I thought it was just imagining it. Then a few moments later I heard it again... then again! I jumped out and looked out the window, my wife got up and looked in the back yard and he was there! He was in good shape, no cuts or anything like that, but he was definitely hungry!
I will say I am extremely fortunate that I was awake to hear him and that he knew how to come back; he has always been an indoor ragdoll, so I gravely feared him being in the outside world.
Also, even though the microchip was not the direct cause of him returning home, I want to emphasize that him having it gave me a level of confidence to not completely melt down over him being lost. Petkey was amazing to work with when I reported Toebeans and had to update some information. The ability to make connect the dots in such a situation is invaluable. After this situation I do realize how valuable it is to have a loved one chipped!

UPDATE: FOUND and safely back home
She was lost in the midst of a terrible accident and must have jumped out of a shattered window while the car was flipping because as soon as it landed back on all four wheels she was nowhere to be found
I’m blessed to be safe, but the fact that she survived such a horrible accident AND found a safe place in a beautiful couple’s backyard to escape heavy traffic actually feels like a miracle. Thank you so much to everyone for sharing posts across Nextdoor and Facebook, and to all the caring individuals who helped search for her immediately after the accident. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart, and cannot express how much it means to be back with her tonight

I got a text from my neighbor this morning that he was hiding underneath a piece of furniture in their backyard. I was able to scoop him up and bring him back inside. I think Flapjack has learned that he does not belong to the streets. He is grateful to be home and I’m grateful he’s safe.
