My incredible neighbors kept up the search for my kitty while I was at work. They called me to let me know they spotted him hiding in a bush 4 houses up from mine. I rushed home and was able to calm him down enough to pick him up. He’s home safe now, and has a vet appointment for an injury to one of his paws.

Someone found her and had her scanned for a microchip. Luckily for me, that's how I got her back from the shelter.

Thank you to all of our neighbors, family, and new friends I have never even met. Also the social media contacts who sent prayers, wishes, and overall positive energy.

Something of a tiny miracle happened over the last 48 hours to our family. I said to my wife on Sunday, “If Cooper doesn’t come home, the one good thing that will come out of all of this is the kindness, the connections, the common bond so many of us involved began to share so quickly. Maybe that was his purpose.” This little dog brought so many people together, so fast, amidst so much other ‘noise’ in our lives.

Some of our neighbors, the Schuette family, came across ‘Coops’ wandering into the Muirfield pool late this Monday afternoon. “We knew it was him” they said when they called. What got him wandering there, what drew him in, we may never know. But what I heard of this little story, I wanted to share. It’s my understanding, before they went to the pool their Dad said, “Don’t forget to look for Cooper.” This little puppy got the spot next to “Drive safe”, “Be home for dinner”, etc. Top spot in the family communication and I know elsewhere, all over the neighborhood I heard kids and families searching. Neighbors spent as much as 8 hours a day searching, taking time, daily, Just calling his name. If you listened outside your home Sunday, you would hear someone calling Cooper.

In 1 day, over 10,000 people had connected with this post on Facebooks “Lost and Found Pets of the Triangle” and it was shared to over 14,000 on NextDoor to neighborhoods all around us. I had random texts and emails with prayers, stories, and well wishes coming in from people I have never met from all over the Triangle. We even had Balynda and her pup Bravo tracking him this morning, leading us one step closer.
We love this little puppy. We’re just so touched that so many of you, kind compassionate friends, came out and did anything you could to help him come home.

We’re really touched. We’ve tried to find words but there really are none for that level of kindness. Just know, remember, and be thankful that we all live in a community of so many amazing people that contribute to this level of good.

Cooper is safe. Sleeping. Healthy. He’s headed to see his vet. He hopes to say thanks and give puppy kisses to many of you in the coming weeks, ...under the confines of his leash.

She came home on her own after 3 days of being missing. I imagine she was hiding somewhere because of all the fireworks noise.

Went out at 2:30am when it was nice and quiet, saw she ate some wet food so I walked around the house property for about 15 minutes calling her name. As I’m about to walk back inside through the garage she came running up the driveway behind me and followed me right inside! :) So happy shes home safe!

After combing nearby woods and neighborhoods, posting lost pet fliers in all the surrounding neighborhoods and posting on numerous community forums including For the Love of Louie Facebook group and Pawboost we finally received a tip from someone who had seen our George sitting in the shade along their road. The tip came from someone who had seen one of our fliers posted to their mailbox. They called us straight away and kept an eye on him till we arrived but he unfortunately was scared off into the deep woods behind their home. We knew that it was our boy and were convinced we were not leaving the area without him so we combed those woods too. We finally came to an opening that had a cluster of homes and one had a pole barn that housed their camper and sure enough he was seeking shelter from the hot sun underneath of it. We found him just over 3 miles from home and it was thanks to our vigilant community that he is now home.
