The Anatolian ShepherdÆs origins are vague, but they are believed to be descendents of the ancient livestock guardians of ancient Mesopotamia. Their origins date back to around 6, 000 years ago. Anatolians have been long prized for their working ability, and breeding was strictly controlled early on to ensure a top-notch guardian.
