Black, gray, silver, red, black and tan, or beige are all acceptable.
General demeanor is game, alert, generally quiet and inquisitive with great loyalty and affection toward its master and friends.
The Affenpinscher originated in Germany, and is the most ancient of the Toy breeds on record. They were bred to hunt vermin in stables as well as in the houses. As time passed, Affens became popular with noblewomen, who preferred them as lapdogs. By the 17th century, the Affenpinscher moved away from being a working breed to being a luxury breed.
