The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is a small, rustic dog with a natural looking coat. They are friendly to all people and crave attention. They get along well with other dogs, but tend to chase small animals. They can adapt to apartment living because of their medium energy level, but need daily exercise.

Origin

The Petit Basset originated from the Vendee region of France. They were very popular hunting dogs, mostly used to hunt rabbit. Today they are still great hunters in France, but known mostly as family pets and companions in North America.
