Description
The Norwich Terrier, spirited and stocky with sensitive prick ears and a slightly foxy expression, is one of the smallest working terriers. This sturdy descendent of ratting companions, eager to dispatch small vermin alone or in a pack, has good bone and substance and an almost weatherproof coat.
Coloring
All shades of red, wheaten, black and tan or grizzle.
Temperament
Happy, fearless, loyal and affectionate. Adaptable and sporting, they make ideal companions.
Origin
The Norwich Terrier has existed since the late 1800's. They were bred primarily to hunt vermin on the farms in England. Norwich Terriers also hunted with their owners, traveling alongside the horses. In their early history, the Norwich was referred to as the Jones Terrier and the Cantab Terrier. The breed hasn't changed much since its creation.
