The Barbet is a medium sized French water dog with webbed paws to get down into the water. The long woolly coat on the dog is waterproof and can be wavy or curly.
Solid black, gray, brown, fawn, pale fawn, red fawn, and white.
Friendly, obedient and intelligent makes the Barbet a family friendly dog. The bond with the family makes it so the dog prefers to be in the same room with the family at all times. Being that the dog is a hunting dog, exercise daily is needed.
The Barbet comes from France and was known as a sailors companion. Its name comes from the French word for beard; some say they have bearded faces. They are said to be the origin for the poodle.
